If It's Not Written Down, It Doesn't Exist
Brains are deeply flawed thinking machines. Ironically, one of the most glaring blind spots they have is that they tend to think themselves flawless. Did you ever catch yourself thinking this thought?
I don’t need to write it down, I’ll remember it later.
That, my friend, is the devil talking. You will not remember it later. Or, as CGP Grey puts it, “Your brain wants to be full of lies.”[1] If it’s important to you right now, what makes you think it’s not important enough to write down?
I strongly advise you to carry a notebook and pen, because thoughts are fragile things, and in the time it takes to take out your phone and write it down, a notification or a random different thought is enough to make them leave your brain, never to be heard from again.
